The Unforeseen Threat: Ch 04 – The Pallarbeck: Part II

Ten commandos were now making their way down the halls of the Pallarbeck towards the scan team’s last known location.

“Captain Bossa, what’s going on with our communications?”

“Not sure Jones, could just be interference from the planet.”

“Any chance someone could have disabled them Captain?”

“There haven’t been any alarms triggered so it doesn’t seem likely. Just stay on alert anyway.”

“Yes captain.”

The team continued down the halls, until they were stopped by a sealed blast door.

Jones turned to Captain Bossa  “Captain, why is this closed?”

“Not sure, but this doesn’t seem right anymore. Jones, open this door! Team, entry position four!” Jones headed to the control panel of the door and the other commandos headed to opposite sides of the door and awaited the opening. Bossa waited nervously beside the door, fearful of whatever might be waiting for them on the other side.

The blast doors opened abruptly. Captain Bossa turned slightly to peek inside. The Captain saw only one thing, which left him dumb founded. There was a single trooper standing at attention with his arms behind his back in the center of the room, in nothing but his underwear.

“Trooper,” Captain Bossa shouted, “What’s your operating number?!”

The trooper responded after a short pause, “0638, sir!”

0638? “Norrington?”

“Yes sir.”

“Stand down men, let’s move in.” The team backed down from their posts and entered the room. “What happened to your clothes soldier?”

“I’m afraid my team members thought this would be funny sir.”

“Your teammates have a strange sense of humor soldier; we started thinking something happened to you all. Where is your team anyway?” Norrington started to laugh at the question.

“Hahahahaha…hmmph…hmm…hmph. Sorry sir. My team? Right, they’re all dead sir.”

“What did you say soldier!?” Bossa asked in shock, thinking he had heard wrong.

“Sir,” Jones shouted, “by the command panels!” Jones pointed towards the panels, where he could see the body of a much too still trooper.

“Jones, check that out!” Bossa now feared for his team’s safety as Jones made his way towards the panels. “I’m going to ask you one more time Norrington. What happened to your team!?”

“Sir, with all due respect, I already told you. They’re dead. D-E-A-D, dead! Just like Jones here.” Jones quickly looked back to Norrington when he mentioned his name. In one swift motion, Norrington removed his hands from behind his back, revealing his blaster, and raised it up to shoot Jones square in the chest.

“Jones!” Captain Bossa yelled. The team opened fire on Norrington as if on reflex and quickly put him down. The captain looked over to Norrington’s lifeless body, “What the hell Norrington?” as if the blast filled corpse might answer. Just then one of the commandos alongside Bossa cried out in agony. The commandos turned to see a blade of crimson light impaled through the shrieking commando’s chest. The blast doors behind the commandos were instantly sealed by an unknown force as the backstabbed commando fell before them, revealing a dark cloaked figure holding a lightsaber. The eight remaining commandos were now trapped in the sealed room with a Sith.

A moment passed, and Captain Bossa gave the order, “Focus all fire on the Sith! Don’t let him escape!”

The commandos raised their guns to the Sith, and they opened fire.

The Unforeseen Threat: Ch 03 – The Pallarbeck: Part I

As Tenaz sat on the floor of the cockpit in meditation, the ship’s autopilot guided itself through the predetermined hyperspace route. Tenaz could feel himself getting closer and closer to Sparzz’s location. In his meditation, Tenaz could clearly see Sparzz’s ship, The Pallarbeck, orbiting above Dagobah’s atmosphere. It was the same ship that had destroyed his home on Dxun, and now it was time for revenge.

The stars surrounding the hyperspace route began to slow, and the ship came out of lightspeed into the Dagobah system. Tenaz came out of his meditation, and went over to the pilot’s seat. He was far enough away from the Pallarbeck that the ship would not have picked him up on their scanners when he exited lightspeed. Enabling the ship’s cloaking device, Tenaz made his way towards the massive battle ship.

Tenaz needed to keep his presence unknown for as long as possible, so blasting through the hull wasn’t an option. He would need to find another way in. As he examined the exterior of the ship, Tenaz could see a small air duct which he would be able to dock with and enter the ship. Tenaz set the ship to auto-dock with the air duct, and threw his robe on over his armor. Tenaz tightly gripped his lightsaber as he eagerly waited for the docking process to finish. Once the ship had completed the docking sequence, the ship’s escape hatch opened and Tenaz began his crawl through the duct.

The air duct was extremely small and far beyond dark, however reaching out with the force Tenaz was able to see every turn in the duct. He could sense an exit to the metal maze not too far from his location, and began to crawl in that direction.

It was difficult to crawl through the small air duct with his armor on, but he was able to make it to an air vent just above a large room on board the ship. He could see that the room below him had three exits, two of which were closed, and was occupied by seven republic troopers. The troopers appeared as though they were fully equipped and ready to defend the ship at all costs, but when Tenaz reached out with the force he could sense that they were still beginners, possibly fresh out of training. He had hoped for a challenge, but they would serve as a good warm up for the larger confrontation he knew he would soon have to face.

“Sith!” a trooper yelled.  “Alert the command bridge immed-.” Tenaz lunged forward and cut down the trooper before he could finish his last word. Before the other troopers could open fire, Tenaz was already cutting them down. Taking a huge stride forward with the help of the force, Tenaz decapitated two of the troopers as he held his lightsaber out to his side. Now the firing had started, but the inexperienced troopers were no match for Tenaz’s lightsaber. Tenaz zigzagged his way to the next trooper, dodging blaster bolts as he went. Once he was close enough, Tenaz quickly slashed the man across the chest, putting an end to the small threat he posed.

The Unforeseen Threat: Ch 02 – Commencement

Before I knew it, we were coming out of hyperspace. In the distance I could see a planet that seemed as though it was covered entirely by desert. This had to be Korriban, the planet where I would begin my training.

During our flight Darth Neeru had told me that Korriban is one of the original home worlds of the Sith, and buried under the millennia old deserts I would find the tombs of these Sith. Perhaps the darkness of these ancient Sith would still be present in the tombs, just as it had in Freedon Nadd’s back on Dxun. If I wanted to learn all I could about the force and the darkside, I would have to find some of these tombs.

“Tenaz,” I heard Neeru say, “the power of the darkside that you felt back on Dxun will be insignificant next to the power you will witness on Korriban.” Just then, as if on cue, I began to feel the darkness emanating from the planet below, even though we were still a good distance from the surface. Feeling the power from the planet below made me feel only one thing- hunger. Hunger to take in as much of it as I could, so that I could master the darkness for myself.

As we began our descent to the planet’s surface all I could see was desert. Suddenly I watched as the desert floor began to open beneath the ship. As I tried to make sense of what I was seeing it became obvious to me. It was a ship hanger, which was hidden beneath the surface of the desert planet. Neeru brought the ship down into the hanger with ease.

From inside the ship I could see a countless number of ships, many resembling Vandin’s “Diemos.” Besides the one-manned starfighters, there were also many other ships, all seemingly serving a different purpose. There were several ships that I believed to be transport ships. Each looked as though they could hold as many as twenty to thirty troops at a time. There were also several heavier armed ships, possibly to lead an onslaught of the smaller ships into battle. In an area all their own, I saw many different types of speeder bikes, all which looked as though they were customized to the rider’s comfort and liking.

Pulling me away from my daze, I heard the release of the ship’s ramp as my entrance into the desert world was opened. I followed Neeru as he led me down the ramp and through the massive hanger. As I walked through the hanger, I realized that it was even bigger than I thought when I was still in my seat. As we approached a massive durasteel door, Neeru simply wiped his hand across the air as if to move something out of his way, and the larger door opened with ease.

I followed Neeru down a dark corridor until we came to a stop in front of a smaller durasteel door. Standing there I became more aware of my surroundings. I could feel how dense the darkness was here, craving to be used – to be used by me.

The Dream State

Here’s a sneak preview of chapter 2

Hope you enjoy!

For Tenaz, tonight’s sleep had been no different than the past few nights’. It was now the sixth night in a row that Tenaz had dreamt of his uncle’s death.

There his Uncle Zuka II stood, fully armored and guns ready, in front of the Dxun outpost they had called home. Tenaz had witnessed his uncle’s death through the force, but now he could see inside the orbiting ship that had fired the killing blasts. He could see the countless republic troops stationed throughout the ship. He blamed them all for the death of his uncle and whatever other Mandalorian brothers they had killed over the years. Suddenly, there was a change in tonight’s dream. Instead of the same troops he usually saw, Tenaz now saw a caped man equipped with heavy armor.

“Fire!” The armored man had yelled to the troopers. Tenaz knew that this was no ordinary republic leader, his armor was far superior from what he had seen in the Sith library at the Academy. Just then the armored man turned to compliment the troopers on accurate shooting when Tenaz saw a large emblem printed across the chest of his armor. It was a Mandalorian skull, similar to the one that Tenaz wore on his shoulder armor. Who was this man, and if he was a Mandalorian brother, why would he help the republic in knocking off his own brethren?

The Old Republic RP Wiki

A while ago, some fellow guilidies and I went out and created wiki pages for each of our characters on “The Old Republic: Role Playing Wiki.” Together we worked on posting a wiki page for the guild as a whole and individual pages for each of our characters. Like my story, which will be posted periodically, it’s a work-in-progress. Even though I believe I’m very descriptive in my writing, the Darth Tenaz Wiki may help you create a better picture in your mind of what both Darth Tenaz looks like as well as the rest of the characters. Many of the character links can be found on the guild’s wiki, TOSL Wiki. Enjoy.
