The unforeseen Threat: Ch 07 – Return From the Dagobah System

As Tenaz sped through hyperspace he noticed the light on the comm. link blinking. He pressed a button on the panel and the device came to life. A hologram of Captain Torigac, an Imperial Agent within the order, now stood before him.

“Darth Tenaz, I hope your mission was a success. I come to you with some unfortunate news however. There has been an incident with Darth Neeru. It seems that on his last mission, he and his team were ambushed by a republic fleet, with the aid of Mandalorian warriors. The team, along with Darth Neeru have all been listed as K.I.A. Darth Vandin has requested that you return to the academy immediately so that he can speak with you.” – End Transmission.

“Master Neeru… dead? This isn’t possible.” Tenaz slammed a fist down in rage, destroying the comm. unit. “I would have felt something in the force if he was killed. Neeru is too cunning to have been killed. If anyone could find a way out of a bad situation, it was him. Where did you go Master? Maybe someone at the academy could tell me the mission location.” Reaching to activate the comm. Tenaz realized he had bashed it in his rage, rendering it completely useless. “Looks like I’ll have to return to the academy now.”

Tenaz walked through the halls of the academy towards his master’s quarters. As he looked inside he saw what he was expecting, but not what he had hoped for, Neeru was not there. Entering the room he could tell Neeru hadn’t been in for a while. Tenaz went to the center of the room and sat down. He began to meditate, focusing on any glimmer of his master’s presence.

Tenaz was surprised when he was able to quickly find his master. Finding him alive wasn’t what had surprised Tenaz, but rather that he had found his master so quickly. Tenaz focused harder and suddenly he could see himself meditating on his master’s floor, and a faint hum he was all too familiar with could be heard. Tenaz now knew what was going on. The Unforeseen Threat: Ch 05 – The Pallarbeck: Part III

The remaining nine assault teams onboard the Pallarbeck now raced through the halls towards Bravo team’s (Captain Bossa’s team) last know heading. The teams searched every room along the way, and with each team consisting of ten men apiece they moved rather quickly throughout the ship. To insure the intruder would not escape, each team had taken a different route – sealing off all paths of escape.

As the teams moved closer and closer to Bravo team’s location their paths began to cross. Now there was three assault teams each equipped with thirty fully armed commandos; Alpha, Delta, and Eco squads.

Finishing up his check, a commando of Alpha squad exited a room to return to the hallway when he saw a figure at the end.

“Captain, on your nine! Sector seven!” he shouted to the commanding officer. Turning quickly, the captain saw a man running down the hall.

“Open fire men!” the captain ordered as the blaster bolts began to fly. From down the hall the intruder sent a shockwave towards their direction, just strong enough to knock a few commandos off their feet and into other commandos.

As soon as they were up on their feet again, they could see the intruder now running back down the hall.

“We’ve got him on the run men! Follow him to his grave!” The captain shouted and the commandos immediately ran down the hall in pursuit of the man. “There is nowhere to hide scum!”

As the captain ran down the hall with his commandos, he knew even if his squad didn’t catch the intruder one of the other teams would. All the escapes were cut off, the intruder would soon be dead.

Turning the corner the captain and his team entered what seemed like a rancor’s playpen. The room was filed with nearly twenty massacred republic troops all lying in a pool of blood and limbs. Two commandos lay completely shattered within the walls of the room, three more were decapitated, several others were cut in half, and one body seemed as though it was ripped apart with brute force alone.

“What could possibly do this much damage?” the captain said softly. Turning his head he could hear the sound of armor clanking together down one of the halls connecting to the carnage-filled room. Within seconds another commando squad entered the room, all in as much shock as the captain had been when he had first entered.

Just as the second team was entering the room, the third squad made their way in.

“Delta squad!? Eco squad!? What are you all doing? Where is the intruder!?” the captain demanded.

“We followed him down the hall to here sir!” the leader of Delta squad  proudly responded.

“Same here sir! Where did he go? He couldn’t have got past us, there’s no other way out!” Eco squad’s leader said. Suddenly all three doors closed behind the commando squads.

“What happened!?” The captain of Alpha squad shouted to the commandos. “Get these doors open!” Continue reading

The Unforeseen Threat: Ch 04 – The Pallarbeck: Part II

Ten commandos were now making their way down the halls of the Pallarbeck towards the scan team’s last known location.

“Captain Bossa, what’s going on with our communications?”

“Not sure Jones, could just be interference from the planet.”

“Any chance someone could have disabled them Captain?”

“There haven’t been any alarms triggered so it doesn’t seem likely. Just stay on alert anyway.”

“Yes captain.”

The team continued down the halls, until they were stopped by a sealed blast door.

Jones turned to Captain Bossa  “Captain, why is this closed?”

“Not sure, but this doesn’t seem right anymore. Jones, open this door! Team, entry position four!” Jones headed to the control panel of the door and the other commandos headed to opposite sides of the door and awaited the opening. Bossa waited nervously beside the door, fearful of whatever might be waiting for them on the other side.

The blast doors opened abruptly. Captain Bossa turned slightly to peek inside. The Captain saw only one thing, which left him dumb founded. There was a single trooper standing at attention with his arms behind his back in the center of the room, in nothing but his underwear.

“Trooper,” Captain Bossa shouted, “What’s your operating number?!”

The trooper responded after a short pause, “0638, sir!”

0638? “Norrington?”

“Yes sir.”

“Stand down men, let’s move in.” The team backed down from their posts and entered the room. “What happened to your clothes soldier?”

“I’m afraid my team members thought this would be funny sir.”

“Your teammates have a strange sense of humor soldier; we started thinking something happened to you all. Where is your team anyway?” Norrington started to laugh at the question.

“Hahahahaha…hmmph…hmm…hmph. Sorry sir. My team? Right, they’re all dead sir.”

“What did you say soldier!?” Bossa asked in shock, thinking he had heard wrong.

“Sir,” Jones shouted, “by the command panels!” Jones pointed towards the panels, where he could see the body of a much too still trooper.

“Jones, check that out!” Bossa now feared for his team’s safety as Jones made his way towards the panels. “I’m going to ask you one more time Norrington. What happened to your team!?”

“Sir, with all due respect, I already told you. They’re dead. D-E-A-D, dead! Just like Jones here.” Jones quickly looked back to Norrington when he mentioned his name. In one swift motion, Norrington removed his hands from behind his back, revealing his blaster, and raised it up to shoot Jones square in the chest.

“Jones!” Captain Bossa yelled. The team opened fire on Norrington as if on reflex and quickly put him down. The captain looked over to Norrington’s lifeless body, “What the hell Norrington?” as if the blast filled corpse might answer. Just then one of the commandos alongside Bossa cried out in agony. The commandos turned to see a blade of crimson light impaled through the shrieking commando’s chest. The blast doors behind the commandos were instantly sealed by an unknown force as the backstabbed commando fell before them, revealing a dark cloaked figure holding a lightsaber. The eight remaining commandos were now trapped in the sealed room with a Sith.

A moment passed, and Captain Bossa gave the order, “Focus all fire on the Sith! Don’t let him escape!”

The commandos raised their guns to the Sith, and they opened fire.
